Jonathan Edwards and the Lakeland Revival...or They're Coming to Take Me Away hah!!! hah!!!

Well, I was stunned to hear that revival is breaking out in Lakeland, Florida complements of Mr. Todd Bentley, or Benny Hinn with tattoos.

Anyway, it's a revival of the goofy sort - one that's making the Toronto Blessing seem pretty sane. As a continuationist, theologically speaking, this isn't a slight at the work of the Holy Spirit, but rather noting the doctrinal free-for-all that is coming from this.

Revival produces fruit, not just an experience. An old, dead guy that had a rather dramatic move of the spirit in his church wrote extensively about it - his name was Jonathan Edwards and it was back in the 1700s. "Distinguishing Marks of a Work of the Spirit of God" is probably the best book ever written on the subject.

Anyway, here's some video. I still think his act is immature, Todd Bentley and company need to learn from Benny Hinn, Robert Tilton, Richard and Oral Roberts, Peter Popov and all the great t.v. healers of the past and present. Todd really needs a gimmick besides looking like an indie rocker.

Are monkey demons causing your headaches?:

Wow, this must be a work of God and a response to His word:

Justin Peters was on Way of the Master radio regarding this as well as Ingrid Schleuter’s “Crosstalk” on VCY America. They are both archived. This is what he wrote on his experience of Lakeland:

And here is his site: http://www.justinpeters.org - be sure to see “demo.”
He spoke at my church and comes highly recommended by my pastor, Dr. John MacArthur.
